How to do the over-the-shoulder glance pose
Also called: looking back, the stolen glance
One partner looks back over their shoulder at the camera or at their partner.
See the two of you in this pose
Step by step
- Turn your body away from the camera.
- Rotate your shoulders and head back toward the camera.
- Drop the near shoulder slightly and lift your chin a little.
Tips
- Classic for showing off the back of a dress.
- For a couple version, walk away hand in hand and both glance back.
Getting the angle right
The pose works because the turn creates a long line from the back to the face. Turn the shoulders more than the head, keep the near shoulder relaxed and slightly lower, and look back with your chin a little lifted. It flatters a dress with back detail and a groom's jacket alike.
