Step by step

  1. The front partner stands relaxed with weight on the back foot.
  2. The back partner steps in close and wraps both arms around the front partner's waist.
  3. The back partner rests their chin on the front partner's shoulder or kisses their cheek or temple.
  4. The front partner holds the hugging arms or lets their hands rest on top.

Tips

  • Taller partner usually goes behind, but the reverse makes a playful variation.
  • It shows off a ring if the front partner's hand rests on the arm.

Why it works

Both faces stay toward the camera, which most couple poses can't manage. That makes it one of the most flattering and most versatile poses: it works standing, at a railing, on a beach, or as a close-up.

Variations

Rest chins on a shoulder and both look at the camera. Kiss the temple while the front partner laughs. Sway gently side to side. Swap who's in front for a playful version.
