How an engagement session usually flows
Most engagement sessions run 60 to 90 minutes at one or two locations. Photographers tend to start with simple, close poses while you get used to the camera, move to walking and movement once you relax, and save the kisses and dramatic shots for the end, when the light is best and you have stopped thinking about posing.
Engagement photos often end up on save-the-dates, so ask for a few clean frames where you both look at the camera, alongside the candid ones.
Show off the ring without making it the whole shoot
Rest the ringed hand on your partner’s chest, shoulder or cheek in a few poses rather than holding it up to the lens. A relaxed hand with fingers slightly apart photographs better than a clenched one.
